Come celebrate 2012 dancing with us at Kelly’s, located in the corner of Crown and Temple; we will be moving to a new location soon, so this might be the last milonga we organize there! John will DJ, and as you know he is pretty awesome, so please come and have a drink or food and dance with us!
Sadly Kelly’s is cancelled tonight, but there will be a milonga at GPSCY on the third floor at 8. Unfortunately, you must be over 21 to get in the building. If you say you are with the tango event, you shouldn’t have to pay a cover. There is a bar downstairs, if you want to grab a beer or a glass of wine. Hope to see some of you there!
What makes a good tango? Good music is just that, and tango is no exception. Perhaps the closest popular music genre to classical, there have been times in tango’s history in which it crossed its path with classical music. The most clear example is the adaptation done by Donato of Chopin’s etude Op.10 no.3; this is the original piece, played by Valentina Ingoshina:
And Donato’s version, danced by Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes:
Come to Kelly’s tonight and welcome the fall by enjoying what moves your feet and your heart. No cover fee! Please be supportive of Kelly’s, our gracious hosts, by buying food or drinks and being nice to the staff.
John is DJing, so you know the music is guaranteed to be excelent.
Come dance with us!
Yep, you read right, I’m writing in very bad English and will not even attempt to use the good ‘ole “it’s not my first language!” excuse. Come on, you know you need us! There is air conditioning at Kelly’s. Beers of many types. And awesome people to dance with! I (Gustavo) will DJ tonight, so come dance with us and have a fantastic time! It will charge your batteries for the rest of the week ;D
As usual, there is no cover fee, so please help us support our gracious hosts by buying some food or drinks, and please remember to be kind to the staff, as usual.
What a hot day, huh? According to the forecast, this week we will have temperatures of above 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the Northeast. What better way to deal with it than staying cool during the day -if possible, near an A.C. unit- and dancing at night! Come to Kelly’s tonight for a cold beer (or two) and an evening of dancing with your awesome tango buddies from New Haven. It will make the heat seem a lot less annoying!
As usual, there is no cover fee, so please be kind to the staff and if possible buy something from our gracious hosts in the corner of Temple and Crown (fine, it doesn’t have to be beer… it could be ice cream!). Will is DJing, so come dance with us to awesome music in a really chill space!
