Milonga & Mandala

The tango dancing and the masala eating on Tango Tuesdays at Mandala Bistro have both been a delicious experience.  Join us tonight for Argentine Tango beginning at 8:00pm until 11:30pm, but come anytime for the wonderful food.

Although the combo of tango and the quisine of Indian may seem a bit random, they are coincidently a rather magically appropriate pairing:

The “Mandala” is considered a “spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. Its symbolic nature can help one “to access progressively deeper levels of the unconscious, ultimately assisting the meditator to experience a mystical sense of oneness with the ultimate unity from which the cosmos in all its manifold forms arises.” (D.Fontana, Mediating with Mandalas).

Similarly this union with the mystical has been seen in “the Argentine tango… an art that liberates and unites souls, in a union of music and dance“.  Others have noted that “in dancing Tango Argentino” we find “our soul’s longing for Oneness”.

Join us and enjoy the magic of Tango Tuesday at our new home: Mandala Bistro 25 Temple St. New Haven (Across from the Criterion Movie theater – a block down from where we used to be). NO COVER!!! Come have dinner and dance with us! The milonga starts at 8pm. This place is beautiful! Click here to get directions or here to check out their menus.
