The New Haven Tango Club’s mission is to organize tango events and to bring CT dancers, instructors, performers, and DJs interested in tango together in the area’s premier venues. NHTC is a resource for local instruction, a hub for community-building among local social dancers, and a place to get information about tango, salsa and swing dancing.
NHTC hosts a regular tango dance party or “milonga” every Tuesday night in downtown New Haven. There is open dancing from 8:00 PM until midnight, playing mostly tango, but also sometimes (if most of us are into it) a little bit of latin, swing and blues. Multiple instructors are on hand all night for free individual and small group guidance.
